Exactly What Kind Of Research Are They Doing?

According to this story, 16,500 condoms were just delivered to a U.S. research base in Antarctica, to coincide with the onset of the dark months of winter.

It also says there are 125 people on the base. That's 132 condoms per person.

Assuming you only need one condom for every two people when they wanna get it on, that's 264 condoms per person per year.

That's some exhausting research they're doing.

the answer to your question of what kind of research they are doing is "the best kind"

Wow, that was seriously too much information.

I wonder what they are doing on the research base in Antarctica right now! Hmm!

Perhaps more than 264 condoms per couple per year, under the theory that there's probably an imbalance of men and women, that some of the people there are married couples or uninterested or otherwise don't use condoms...

On the other hand that sounds like a reasonable number to me, given that there's not a lot else to do in Antarctica in the winter.
